Final Piece Selection
Within this was my plan for which photograph went in which frame. Within this plan I also prepared the sizing the photos had to be printed.
Photo one
I chose this photograph for my final piece because I like the idea of grungey street photography, it captured the idea of something that was chucked aside because it was irrelevant. However the colour within the photographs adds a beauty to it and helps to stand out in the multiple frame. The shallow depth of field adds a really interesting composition. It coming in from one side to the middle also makes it not totally of centre but not totally centre. Therefor it has strong presence on the photo for how close up it is.
Photo Two

Making sure I was conscious of some of the original ideas studied by my photographs helped me to create this photograph. I wanted to capture an old building that was being hidden. What I like about it is the contrast is very subtle because of the greyness and it irony o it saying coming soon. The composition was simple, they door was slightly going over half while still keeping the bricks in for texture to the picture. The black and white made it stand out really well between the two colour photos in the multi frame.
Photo Three
This is the final photograph in the multi frame. It grasps the idea of smoking being something society is not proud of. Cigarettes aren't something that is glamorous as you can see them in most places on the floor. What I like about the colour is that it grasps the filter really well and also the rust around the cigarettes. I chose this photo because I like where the focus is. It is not in the for ground and not really in the background. It therefor gives a nice effect to make u feel like you're quite close to it.
Photo Four
From the pictures in my development to this, I decided to crop it. The other people and items in it I found were to distracting. This also helps concentrate more on the intimacy in his eyes. Still keeping in the shop it shows a really nice contrast of the jewellery shop to him. The black behind the man represents the backstage in contrast to the white which is the stage. This interpretation could show him hidden behind the wall and therefor he is being kept backstage by society. I like this photo and the black and white really helped create shadows and contest which is something I think you need to create intimacy within the photograph.
Photo Five
I chose this photograph over my others because being so close really helps create intensity in the photograph. By having her face hidden it really helps create a bond to her eyes. I chose to explore the idea of headscarves as some people lack knowledge and understanding and cannot understand why society allows people to cover there faces. I think this photograph captures the idea of the model keeping herself backstage and hidden for her religion, but it also makes awareness of the taboo subject headscarves have become. I find the composition successful because of the symmetry created. The contests of dark and light also really are bought out because of the photo being black and white.
Photo Six
I chose this photograph because I really liked the way in which It was natural, the lighting and the pose. I think it shows a side to society of the idea of younger girls keeping pregnancy to themselves (backstage) because of the stereotypes created about young mothers. Teen pregnancy is something kept backstage because of the idea that children shouldn't be having children, and therefor are to young to have sex. I wanted to show something that was already the consequence of another action. I like the photograph in colour because it shows it exactly how it is. No glamorous effects it is just what it is.
Photo Seven
I chose this photo because I wanted to make the topic believable. Lottery is something that is fed to us through tv and advertisement as something that is harmless. However I wanted to explore the idea of how something so innocent could cause a massive addiction. The idea behind this is that society is embarrassed when something so simple becomes an addiction. And the lottery company carry on selling them with no limit per player. I think this represents gambling in whole that it has no limits and that is exactly how an addiction this begins, and society has little sympathy for mental health and addiction like gambling because it has no physical symptoms so it is something they would rather keep backstage. I like the composition specially because of all the information on the lottery tickets. They are colourful and nothing seems harmful about them, thats why I chose to keep the playfulness within the colour.
Photo Eight
Why I chose this picture is that it has no shame about it. The condom is dirty and covered in dirt. Within this you can grasp little dignity for sex, and it is something that is no longer respected. However the idea of sex is still seen as a taboo and it not reacted to well, although there is no subtlety of sex for example selling things to us through sex. I chose to keep the photo off centre just because of the main thing being the only thing in it. The colour in it works really well in comparison to the dark ground.
Photo Nine
My last photograph was another one looking at the idea of mental health, but this time through self harm. I chose to look at it because things such as self harm are kept backstage to lack of knowledge. People make a lot of assumption self harm is due to attention seeking behaviour. I wanted to therefor look at the idea of people being embarrassed of it people of miss conceptions through society. I chose this photo because the cuts in the middle show this idea of being able to hide it when the legs are together, so having a slight gap in the legs lets the viewer have a small insight to the cuts. I chose black and white to contrast the skin on the black background to enhance the skin.
