I really enjoyed photographing the buildings and felt it was a really interesting way to interpret the word.
So initially I re shot some more buildings, but to elaborate on it I started to look at things that society hide, they keep backstage.
My first images are adding on some of the ideas of back of buildings, but also looking at what society might want to hide (keep backstage).
Within this photograph what really attracts me to it is the different shapes within the photograph, it creates an interesting visual for a the person looking at it. The photograph brings out a lot of contrast and that gives even more exciting shapes within the photograph. The curving of the stairs in the middle draw the person to the center of the photograph.
This photograph is of an old club in town, what I like about it is the shadowing has bought grubbyness on the wall. I also like the writing on the door which shows the idea of it being something that is forbidden or not shown/shared with the public
I took this photograph of some old flats, I made the photo black and white and enhanced the red back in the balloon. This made the photo more visually interesting. However I like this re shoot of back of a building because it is a bit more exciting with the Banksy style graffiti on it! I like this idea that someone would still show affection towards a run down area.
This photograph is of the back of a barber shop, similarly to the photo before it was made more beautiful with this plant. Although there back of this building isn't that run down I just like the themes behind it.
This photograph was of the back of a shop looking in, I liked the idea of this but I like also the idea of the boarded up shop next door like they are trying to hide something or keep it backstage.
This photograph looks into the ideas of what society wants to keep backstage. This was a good example because these rubbish bins were found round the back of the buildings I took my earlier photos in. I think this is a really interetsing way of exploring backstage and This is something I want to explore.
