Development | My backstage

When developing ideas for backstage I wanted to look at the idea of my own backstage. Through this I took photos of what is behind me, like my bedroom, my photographs and possessions.

This photograph was a good practise for my use of depth of field. Getting the first candle so in focus left the background really nicely out of focus. It creates a light blur and also nicely illuminates the sequins.
Within this photo my depth of field was further on the foot, and it meant the closer bits of the photograph. I chose this possession from my bedroom because it was something precious to me.
After taking photos of some of my possessions I looked at my backstage looking into or on the stage of life.
This photo showed my interpretation of backstage. It shows behind the curtain my backstage. Also the photographs at the side show me and my personal life. What i like about this photograph was how delicately the curtain falls and how it grasps the light from behind it.
From my last photo I decided to look at the idea of behind the curtains and looking at my backstage looking on to the stage of life (outside) the dark shadows in this photograph contrast really well the the bright sky behind. I like this photograph and the use of black and white creates really crisp contrast.

This photograph was exploring the stage lights to my backstage however I wanted to capture only half to represent not being fully on stage but backstage. What I like about this photograph was the shadow caught on the ceiling and also the lines caught on the sealing through contrast.
