Development | Literal interpretation of backstage

When deciding where to take my work, I looked at my photographers influence, so I decided to look at the literal interpretation of backstage. I did this by visiting a local theatre.

During my time at the theatre I had low lighting so I explored a lot with high ISO and black and white contrasting and shadowing. The letters being so dark on the white helped me to explore this. When editing the orangey dim light was taken away from this using black and white.
This photograph is of the wooden set/stages. What I like about this is the line it creates but also the paint shabby round the edges which worked really well contrasting with the colours.

What I like about this photograph is the high ISO shows the grainy look on the photography a bit like Shitagi's. Also I like the shallow depth of field zooming in on the words.

The photo below also explored a grainy look. But this time the focus was a lot nearer to the lens. What I liked about this [photograph is writing is really elegant contrasting with the hard shoulders of the coat hanger.

On this picture I was developing the idea of shadows using one light, this meant the right side wa silluminated and showed the brick pattern really nicely. It also created a block black shadow on the costumes. However the lack of lights made the photo grainy due to a high ISO.
Developing this I used more light to the left which illuminated the clothes even more. It also created a lovely reflection on the mirror. However I do like the block black features in the previous photograph.
